Popular ATV Manufacturer, “Polaris” Closes Osceola Plant

By james | May 21, 2010

Polaris Industries, manufacturer of popular ATVs, snowmobiles and Victory motorcycles, announced Thursday it will close its massive Osceola plant and move the engine manufacturing operations to sites in Minnesota, Iowa and Mexico” RiverTowns.net

It is reported that 500 employees will be loosing their jobs once the plant closes and as you can imagine, many Americans are not happy to hear that a new plant will be opening in Mexico. I am not against foreign made parts (obviously) but Polaris used the marketing strategy of “Made in America” for it’s Victory Motorcycle campaign. Will they now advertise their products as being “Partially Made in America”?

It was unclear which new plant will be manufacturing their adult and youth ATV engines.
