Man Issued a $17,500 Fine for Building an ATV Track
By james | March 18, 2010
Vincent Mofford of Middleboro, MA built an ATV track on his 20 acre property only to be slapped with a $17,500 fine! Unfortunately the spot he chose to build the track on crossed over several electric company easements and skirted land that was federally protected. Mr. Mofford cleared land that was close to a wetland conservation area.
Before building a track for your UTV, ATV, pit bike, etc., be sure to check the survey of your property for any easements and find out about the property that surrounds you. Is it protected wetlands and how does that effect what you can do on your property?
